Women’s Pennant flags aren’t won in May; however Royal Perth are certainly showcasing their title credentials throughout a number of divisions.

As is stands, the club holds top position in Division 1, 2 and 4.

With only two rounds remaining finals positions seem likely, as they pursue an unprecedented triple crown.

A third- straight victory on Sunday has lifted the Division One side two games clear of third spot with two rounds remaining.

Despite having the bye next weekend, a victory over Wanneroo in the last round of the season would see the team qualify for a finals campaign, after finishing fourth last year.

The biggest accolade however was left for Royal Fremantle.

The fifth-placed team knocked off title favourites Mount Lawley in a thrilling contest on Sunday, opening the competition up with two rounds remaining.

Abbie Teasdale put in a terrific performance to defeat WA State teammate Kirsten Rudgeley 4&3, before Candice High surprised the in-form Eve Cohen 2up.

Jaks Scott defeated Sue Thomson 7&5 leaving the side 3-0 up, before Erina Tan and Karen Bond snatched victories for Mount Lawley.

Valerie Khuu made it 3-3 with one match remaining, with Celine Chen sealing a monumental victory for Royal Fremantle with a 3&2 win over Christine Rebolledo.

The 4-3 loss was the first of the year for Mount Lawley, however the side is still in a strong position to qualify for finals.

Royal Perth was pushed right to the line against WA Golf Club at Wanneroo, with a number of impressive performances making for a high-quality contest.

Mardi Evans upset Yeah-Jin Lee on the 19th hole, however four wins was enough for Royal Perth to move clear at the top of the table.

Cottesloe narrowly missed out on their second victory of the year going down to Lake Karrinyup 4-3.

Royal Perth’s stunning club form has been replicated in Division Two, with the dominant team only needing one more victory to likely find themselves in a final.

Their 4-3 victory over Melville Glades during Round 5 at Lake Karrinyup Country Club was built on the back of lower order dominance, with their no.5, 6 and 7 all securing comfortable wins.

The Vines kept their slim finals hopes alive with a 5-2 win over Nedlands, leaving the team a match behind the leaders.

Mount Lawley continued their chase of top spot after a commanding 5-2 victory over Mandurah.

Division Three remains a tight tussle for finals positions with up to five clubs still in the race for a top two finish.

Joondalup sit a game clear at the top of the table; however, have played an extra game amongst the top five teams.

Gosnells seem the most likely competitor in the race for the title after a 7-0 drubbing of bottom-placed Melville Glades at Royal Fremantle Golf Club.

Joondalup were too good for a struggling Lakelands outfit, while Cottesloe scored an upset victory over WA Golf Club 4-3.

Lynne Malone and El Reeves managed crucial wins at no. 6 and 7 respectively to clinch a tough victory over the contender.

Kwinana are best placed in the Division Four competition, sitting equal with Royal Perth but having a game in hand after five rounds.

The unbeaten side moved their winning streak to four after a 5.5-1.5 win over a winless Mandurah team, while Royal Perth kept their chances alive with an exhilarating 4-3 win over Mount Lawley.

The loss effectively sees Mount Lawley ruled out of contention with just one win from five games.

Royal Fremantle and Lake Karrinyup look set to battle it out for top spot in Division 5 after the latter went down for the first time this campaign at Cottesloe Golf Club.

Sea View roared back into contention after their upset 5.5-1.5 win over the competition hopefuls, while Royal Fremantle trounced bottom team Joondalup 7-0.

WA Golf Club are the runaway leaders in Division Six after extending their unbeaten run to three matches to begin the 2018 season.

The 5-2 victory over Lakelands sees the team a game clear heading into the bye round, with Wanneroo and Nedlands in hot pursuit of the leaders.
