Jurien Bay is alive this weekend with a record numbers of ladies competing in the Aglime of Australia 2021 Rural Bronze. Many faces are familiar, but it is wonderful to see some new chicks in the mix. The atmosphere is like a school reunion each year reconnecting with this lovely bunch.
Jurien Bay Golf Club has turned on the sunshine, course perfection and the warmest of country hospitality for the first day of the individual Stableford competition. With some superb scores on the board, there is some hot competition going into tomorrow’s final round.
Gingin’s Marnie Pearse carded an exceptional 42 points, with Beverely’s Margaret Peek and Pickering’s Roberta Baker hot on her heels with 41 points on the board. Robin Anderson from Wandering and Amanda Pisconeri from Waroona are well in the comp with an outstanding 40 points in their purse going into tomorrow’s final round.
The “Beach party” is kicking off tonight, so self control for tomorrow’s early starters is tricky when socialising is a priority at this annual event. What happens in Jurien stays in Jurien so it is important that we abide by the course rules and competition code of conduct by keeping it just so ….
Let the games begin again tomorrow ladies. Play well and enjoy the warm hospitality and friendship this competition brings.
