Amongst our past champions are Major-winning superstars Greg Norman, Gary Player, Kel Nagle and Ian Baker-Finch. On top of that, players of the calibre of Terry Gale, Brett Rumford, Stephen Leaney, Ryan Fox and Graham Marsh also have their names etched on the coveted Roy Paxton Bowl – some on multiple occasions.

Braden Becker Q&A
Mandurah local Braden Becker won the COVID-delayed 2021 WA Open in extraordinary circumstances, with his approach shot to the 72nd hole of the championship ricocheting off a rival’s ball on the fringe to within tap-in range. He would win the title by a single stroke from Hayden Hopewell. Here, Braden discusses the emotions of that day and looks forward to the 2024 WA Open at his home club.
Ollie Goss Q&A
As an 18-year-old amateur, Ollie Goss won the 2012 WA Open in thrilling fashion, first overhauling overnight leader Ash Hall before beating fellow amateur Brady Watt in a five-hole playoff. It was the start of a golden era for Goss, who went on to finish as runner-up in the 2013 US Amateur Championship and won Low Amateur honours at the 2014 US Masters.
