WA’s Josiah Edwards and Spencer Harrison were amongst the 14 top junior golfers benefitting from a Golf Australia training camp in Melbourne.

The golfers gathered at the Australian Golf Centre in Sandringham this week for sessions that included nutrition, short-game competitions, media training, mental performance, 3D swing analysis and physical preparation.

“Any time you can get the best players and the elite level coaches together it’s a great learning environment for them,” said Brad James, General Manager of High Performance for Golf Australia.

“Camps are put in place as a learning environment and are to value add to these environments that they have in their own states.”

Both Edwards and Harrison are established performers at state level for WA and both made their Australian debuts in a Ryder Cup-style clash against the USA in Wisconsin in July.

The national junior camps were traditionally held in Texas and before that at Moonah Links in Victoria, but more recently moved to AGC in Melbourne with its state-of-the-art facilities.
