The Vines and Nedlands rode their luck to edge out steely competitors and land the respective GolfWA Women’s Pennants Division 2 and 3 titles.
The finals saw The Vines take on Wanneroo for the Division 2 crown, while Nedlands played WAGC for Division 3 honours. Both finals were extremely evenly matched and on another day the results could have gone the other way on a cloudy but windless day at Melville Glades GC.
In the Division 2 final, The Vines eked out a 4-3 win with Brooke Price, Christine Armanesco, Kerrie Holmes and Katie McCabe putting the crucial points on the board. McCabe’s 1UP victory was especially impressive as she overturned a five-hole deficit to win her match on the final green.
The Vines (pictured above) will now play in Division 1 next year after earning the promotion spot, although which team they will replace in the top flight is yet to be confirmed.
It was a similarly tight affair in the Division 3 decider with a number of matches only decided on the final two holes. Nedlands prevailed 4-3, with Karen Bond, Rhonda Moore, Carolyn Browne and Patricia Noske winning their matches. Nedlands (pictured below) will replace Royal Perth in Division 2 next season.

Elsewhere in the GolfWA Women’s Pennants, Divisions 1 and 4 are yet to be decided, while Divisions 5 and 6 were completed in late May with the titles going to Cottesloe and Wanneroo respectively.
