Smith fighting back at LPGA Q-School

6th Dec 2013

Kristie Smith will look to improve on her even par Second Round of 72 when play resumes this evening at the final stage of the LPGA Q-School at the LPGA International Course in Florida.

Smith, who is aiming to earn her first LPGA tour card, has five professional titles to her name including the New Zealand Women’s Open on the Ladies European Tour

At 4-over the card and tied for 92nd place, Smith will need to make up some ground if she is to finish in the top 20 to receive Category 12 status and access to most events on the LPGA Tour. Players placed between 21st and 45th including ties will receive Category 17 status while the remainder that make the cut after the fourth round of the five round event will receive Symmetra Tour status.

Currently Smith sits four shots back of a large group of players tied for 43rd place at even par and six shots back of the top twenty that features fellow Australian Stacey Keating.
