Silver Spoon, International Bowl and Jubilee 4s winners confirmed

Three of GolfWA’s most popular women’s events have concluded for 2024, with the Silver Spoon, Jubilee Foursomes and International Bowl winners all confirmed.

Sammie Coffey of Point Walter Ladies GC claimed the May Stillman Cup for the best nett aggregate score at club level for the Silver Spoon competition, with Lake Karrinyup’s Carmen Palframan winning the gross division.

Both players competed in the Grass Greens category at the Silver Spoon Playoff at Nedlands GC on September 2, which was won by Diane Smith of Bridgetown GC with a nett 70, two clear of Gina Hodgson (Geraldton GC), with Diane Bowden (Seabirds Ladies GC) third.

In the Sand Greens division, top spot went to Kylie Tremlett (Coorow GC) with a nett 77, which left her six clear of Lyn Willett (Boyup Brook GC) and Joy Hamilton (Bolgart GC).

The Jubilee Foursomes playoff took place at Joondalup Country Club the following day, with 57 clubs represented on the day in the Stableford competition.

Wanneroo Golf Club’s Barbara Morrell and Moyra Simpson (pictured below) were convincing winners in the Grass Greens side of the draw, posting 42 points to win by five from Gosnells GC duo Seong Sim and Jin Jaedo Jun.

Meanwhile, it was a day to remember for Munglinup GC’s Jess Atherton and Elizabeth Bott (pictured top) in the Sand Greens division, with their 35-point haul leaving them six clear of Wendy Richards and Jenny Becker (Northam GC).

Although there is no playoff for the International Bowl, the winners were confirmed by GolfWA based on the scores submitted in three designated club competitions. The Silver Division title went to Moora Lake View GC’s Denise O’Hern, while Gosnells’ Miriam Yoon won the Bronze Division.
