Almost 70 participants made the most of glorious spring weather in the western Wheatbelt at the 2024 GolfWA RV Tour.
The tour, which launched in 2021, features golf at three regional clubs, as well as visits to local sites of interest as attendees travel between locations.
The host clubs for this year’s event were Corrigin GC, Northam CC and York GC, all of which provided first-class hospitality to the dozens of attendees, the majority of whom stayed on-site at each course in their RVs and caravans.
Amongst the highlights of the tour were night golf at Corrigin, Scottish dancers and bagpipes at Northam, and a night of skits and musical entertainment at York.
Ned Haywood, GolfWA’s Regional Club Support Officer (North), said the event was a great celebration of all things good about regional golf.
“The crops in the area were looking great, the wildflowers were out in force, all three golf courses were presented in great condition and the weather could not have been better,” he said.
“The participants thoroughly enjoy the entertainment and hospitality provided by each club, and all three clubs went out of their way to accommodate us.”
Alongside all the fun and socialising, a 54-hole Stableford competition was keenly contested with Ray Cooper (Waroona GC) the overall champion ahead of Margaret Whipp (Collie GC) and Lorraine Martin (Bunbury GC).
