The old saying ‘drive for show, putt for dough’ will take on a whole new meaning at the upcoming Mini Golf Championship of WA, with $1000 to be awarded to the state winners of the Open category.
Meanwhile, the winning pairs from the Junior and All Abilities competitions will walk away with a $500 top prize – and all winners will also take home a range of golf goodies, courtesy of event sponsor Drummond Golf.
The inaugural Mini Golf Championship of WA will commence with qualifying competitions at five venues – Collier Park, The Vines, Goanna Golf Point Walter, Wanneroo Botanic Gardens and Yallingup Maze – throughout October.
The top pairings from each category at each venue will progress to the State Final at Collier Park on Saturday, November 11. For many participants, this will represent their best chance to secure a state golfing title!
How to get involved
Young or old, expert or novice, this is a golf tournament for everyone – and it’s easy to get involved. Simply find a partner, register for the host venue of your choice and show up in October for the competition’s qualifying rounds.
Throughout the qualifying rounds and final, teams of two will compete in a best-ball format, with the best score per hole counting toward the team total. To make the event as family-friendly as possible, juniors are able to partner with adults but must compete in the open category to do so.
We hope you will consider joining us at what is shaping up to be our most fun and inclusive golf championship to date! Full details of the event, and the dates of qualifying rounds, can be found here.
