Families and young golfers will be given an extra incentive to play one of Perth’s most picturesque public courses under a bright new initiative from the Point Walter Golf Course.
From 10.30am to midday on Saturdays the course, nestled on the Swan River in Bicton, is set to welcome families and children under the age of 16 at reduced green fees.
The Saturday morning time slot is a traditional one for children’s sport, and the initiative offers sons and daughters a rare chance to play sport alongside mum and dad in the natural surrounds of a golf course.
“We think this idea has the potential to grow and perhaps just as importantly show that we are a public golf course that is available for everyone to use,” Point Walter Golf Course centre manager Clarke Osborne said.
Adult and junior golf sets are also available to hire at the course with the staff at Point Walter all too happy to help out with any other needs.
If you would like to get in contact with the course about the initiative, or get in early and book a round, you can phone them on (08) 9330 3262 or take a look at their website: www.pointwaltergolf.com.au.
