Perth’s two-time Major winner Minjee Lee has confirmed she will tee it up at the 2024 ISPS HANDA Australian Open later this month.

Played from November 28 to December 1 at Kingston Heath and The Victoria golf clubs, the Australian Open will once again feature a dual-gender format, with Minjee teeing it up alongside her brother, Min Woo.

Lee will be one of the headliners of a strong women’s field alongside Hannah Green and fellow Aussies Steph Kyriacou, Grace Kim, Cassie Porter, as well as two-time defending champion Ashleigh Buhai, Major winners Danielle Kang and Jiyai Shin.

The men’s field, meanwhile, also features defending champion Joaquin Niemann along with Cam Smith, Marc Leishman, Lucas Herbert, Cam Davis, Victor Perez, Nicolas Colsaerts and WA’s Karl Vilips.

“Both the women’s and men’s fields look really good,” Lee said. “For me, it’s going to be great fun going head-to-head with Ash after her success in this event and all the Aussie girls, especially Hannah who has had such a great year on the LPGA.

“Although it has been a long year, I’m very much looking forward to finishing my run of tournaments at the Australian Open, which is always one of the most special events of the year.”

Minjee finished runner-up to Ash Buhai at the 2023 Australian Open

Runner-up to Buhai last year in Sydney, Lee has been a consistent contender at the Australian Open without yet claiming the Patricia Bridges Bowl. However, with four top-fives in the event, it’s a trophy she’s determined to add to the family’s silverware collection.

“Winning an Australian Open title would mean so much to me, and breaking the Aussie drought would make it extra special, especially after my close call last year,” she added. “That event was huge, and I’d love to see crowds like that again in Melbourne.”

The 2024 ISPS HANDA Australian Open will be broadcast on Fox Sports and Kayo, as well as the NINE Network/9NOW. Tickets are available now via Ticketek.
