Western Australian Ian McPherson has won the Australian Men’s Senior Match Play Championship 1up over New South Welshman Denis Dale at Thirteenth Beach Golf Links in Victoria.
A member of Joondalup Country Club in Perth, McPherson is the first player from Western Australia to win the title.
The Australian Men’s Senior Match Play Championship is open to the leading 32 players from the Australian Men’s Senior Ranking System; and a Super Senior Section for the leading 8 players aged 65 years and over. It is played over two and a half days, with players who are eliminated from the main championship progressing to consolation flights.
