Cottesloe’s Curtis Luck has continued his impressive run of form in 2014, sitting in a tie for second place after two rounds of strokeplay at the NSW Amateur.
Luck backed up his opening round of 68 with a four under round of 67 to sit at 8-under par, a stroke behind leader Ben Eccles of Victoria.
The second round was a rollercoaster ride for Luck, who opened with a blemish free 31 on the front nine that included five birdies. Luck hit a wall immediately on the back nine, starting with a bogey and double bogey, but an eagle on the par-5 12th hole steadied the ship and Luck finished the day at 4-under par.
Jarryd Felton remained consistent, shooting his second straight round of 71 to sit just outside the top ten in a tie for 14th place.
In the women’s event, overnight joint leader Hayley Bettencourt fell away from the top ten with a 7-over round to finish the day in fourteenth place. Hannah Green made a big move up the leaderboard firing a 2-under 71, the second lowest score of the day, to sit in a tie for seventh place.
