Minjee Lee and Kristie Smith both posted 3-under rounds of 70 to sit in a tie for 7th place after the opening round of the RACV Volvik Ladies Masters in the Gold Coast.
Two time LPGA Tour winner Jessica Korda sits alone at the top of the leaderboard with a 5-under round of 68. The American found herself 2-over after five holes but three straight birdies from the 8th to the 10th holes, as well as a further three on the back nine gave her a one stroke lead over the field.
Lee posted a steady round, with just the one bogey and four birdies. Lee finished strongly with a 3-under back nine including a birdie on the last to send her into the top ten.
A bogey on the first hole was Kristie Smith’s only blemish for the day, who steadily rose up the leaderboard in her morning round.
