Fresh off a T5 finish at the European Ladies’ Amateur, Kirsten Rudgeley will today tee off in the English Girls’ Open Amateur Championship.
The budding Mount Lawley star was in contention heading into the final round of last week’s European Ladies’ Amateur. Unfortunately, a final round of +2 ended any chance at claiming the 2019 title.
Kirsten’s attention now turns to the wonderfully named Gog Magog Golf Club in Cambridge where she will contest the English Girl’s Open Amateur Championship.
The 72-hole stroke play championship is played over three days. The field plays 18 holes on each of the first two days. After 36 holes, the leading 40 competitors and ties play a further 36 holes on the final day of competition.
The UK is currently in the midst of a heatwave, something that is set to suit the young West Aussie.
Speaking before the tournament Rudgeley said, “The weather is perfect, it’s just what I’m used to.”
The tournament leaderboard can be found here.
Kirsten’s Facebook page is also full of videos and photos if you want to follow her golfing journey.
