Junior Pennants to kick off GolfWA’s 2023 schedule

GolfWA’s 2023 tournament schedule will tee off with Round 1 of the Junior Pennants on Sunday, January 29.

Twenty-two boys’ teams will compete across four divisions, with 14 teams and three divisions in the girls’ competition. In total, a blockbuster total of more than 200 juniors have been nominated by their clubs to participate in this year’s tournament with handicaps ranging from +4 to 40+.

Teams will play up to five rounds of matches at neutral venues, with individual players facing off over 18 holes of matchplay (or 9 holes if one player or more has a handicap of 40 and above) in a bid to secure points for their teams. Starting on January 29, the competition will be contested over five consecutive Sundays, with the titles to be decided on Sunday, February 26.

The 2022 divisional champions in the girls’ tournament were Mount Lawley 1 (Div 1), Lakelands (Div 2) and Royal Fremantle. The boys’ championship crowned divisional winners Gosnells (Div 1), Lake Karrinyup (Div 2), Royal Fremantle (Div 3) and South West (Div 4).
