Lake Karrinyup’s Jayde Panos announced that she will be turning professional today via the Golf Australia website.
The 21-year-old grew through the GolfWA junior system, where she won the 2009 Junior Masters and 2010 State Junior Amateur, before heading to Oklahoma State University in 2010.
It’s been a successful year for Panos, who made the Australian Amateur quarter finals, tied for third place at the Dale McNimara Invitational and was named a first team Academic All-Big-12 pick at Oklahoma state.
But the highlight of the year would have been her most recent tournament, State II of LPGA Tour School, where she finished in a tie for 31st place and earned herself a place at the final stage of LPGA Tour School for the chance of earning a LPGA Tour card in 2015.
“I always dreamed of playing on the LPGA Tour and to be in the process of this becoming a reality makes me speechless,” Panos said.
“Turning professional has been something I have been looking forward to for a long time and I can’t wait to get out there and live my dream.“
Panos also has at least Category D Symetra Tour status for 2015 thanks to her performances already at LPGA Tour School.
Panos will debut as a professional at the Arizona Open in November.
