WA’s Danny List took two days of rain delays in his stride to earn his playing rights for the 2025 DP World Tour season at Qualifying School in Spain.
The 26-year-old former Cottesloe Golf Club member bounced back from rounds of 71-72 in rounds four and five to shoot 8-under 63 in the sixth and final round, climbing 22 spots to clinch one of the final cards for the 2025 DP World Tour season.
“I checked off a huge childhood dream today!” List posted on Instagram. “Thanks to my beautiful mother who shared tears of joy with me when the last putt dropped, she knows just how much has gone into this.
“Thank you to everyone on my team and all that have supported me, it means the world. Let’s go!”
Born in Ghana to an Australian father and based in San Diego, List nevertheless told GolfWA that “I definitely consider myself a WA golfer” and is looking forward to his shot at the big time after largely plying his trade in Canada since 2020.
Elsewhere at Qualifying School, WA’s Haydn Barron shot 65 in the final round but was unable to retain his 2024 status, finishing in a tie for 30th with only the top 20 and ties earning full cards.
Barron is, however, exempt on the European Challenge Tour for 2025 and will very likely have some opportunities on the DP World Tour throughout the season.
Hayden Hopewell also contested Q-School but withdrew after four rounds. He maintains his playing rights on the Challenge Tour for 2025.
