The GolfWA RV tour has come to a completion with a few weary souls but still with plenty of smiles. The Final stop on the week long GolfWA RV tour was at Collie Golf Club today.
The second day at Greenbushes was a first for some with GolfWA’s own Ian ‘Chook’ Fowler incredibly impressed with the course and even more so considering it is completely volunteer driven. The commute from Greenbushes to Collie was only a mere 54 km for the convoy of 30.
Collie Golf Club greeted the weary travelers on Thursday afternoon with grazing plates again showing off some of the regions best produce.
The main putting green was used for a putting comp in the afternoon in which the group used the opportunity to raise some money for Neuroblastoma Australia.
The final course of the week was in fantastic condition with the greens proving tricky in their raised nature. The course at collie gently ambles through the forest with the Kangaroos watching on from either side of the fairway.
Although the final day of the tour didn’t waver the morale of the group with as was on day one plenty of smiles and laughs littered round the first tee.
The winner of the 2022 GolfWA RV Tour was Neil Wilson from Esperance with a total of 94 stableford points for the week.
Thanks go to BoyupBrook, Greenbushes and Collie for their hospitality and the presentation of the courses. Thanks must also go to volunteer Bevin Martin for helping to organise at each venue.
