Connor Fewkes and Abbie Teasdale have taken out the 2018 Siteworks Labour Hire Goldfields Junior Desert Classic in Kalgoorlie.
The pair went in as strong favourites and over the two rounds proved too strong against a talented field.
Hometown hero Fewkes was impressive in the opening round shooting a three-under-par 69, before backing up with an even-par second day to finish well ahead of the remaining competitors.
It’s Fewkes first victory since claiming the Australian Junior Boys’ title in May.
Royal Fremantle’s Teasdale didn’t have it all her own way, beginning with a one-over-par 73 but struggling on day two to finish with 80.
Eventually the WA Amateur Champion finished one stroke ahead of Sasha Hoffman to claim the major prize.
Zac Naake and Fewkes also took out the teams challenge to round off a successful week for the pairing.
The Goldfields Golf Course was in fantastic condition all week, and with the warm weather being apparent, the players all certainly enjoyed the experience.
Well done to the Goldfields on hosting a fantastic event.
