Western Australian layouts occupy nine spaces in Australian Golf Digest’s latest top 100 Australian courses list.

The biennial list is based on the feedback of a panel of 140 judges, who marked more than 300 Australian golf courses on criteria including shot options, challenge, distinctiveness, conditioning and aesthetics.

Lake Karrinyup Country Club is the top-rated Western Australian course in the list, sitting in 17th position. Judges stated that “the course continues to be a test of golf intuition and savvy navigation.”

The full list of WA courses in the top 100 is: –

94. Secret Harbour
82. Meadow Springs
78. Cottesloe
66. Mount Lawley
62. Kalgoorlie (main image)
59. The Western Australian

The top-ranked course for the 17th time in the ranking’s 18th iteration is Royal Melbourne (West). You can check out the complete list here.

In addition, further WA venues were included in Australian Golf Digest’s ‘Living on the Edge’ list of 25 courses that just missed out on inclusion in the top 100. These were Albany, Araluen, Royal Fremantle, Sun City and The Vines (Lakes).
