Davey gets his handful in Sand Green triumph

Round 3 of the Travel Tree Women’s Metropolitan Season will be highlighted by a blockbuster clash between the unbeaten Melville Glades and a heavily favoured Lake Karrinyup side at The Vines Resort on Friday.

Melville Glades are sitting pretty at the top of the table thanks to back to back 4-3 wins over Royal Perth and The Vines. Lake Karrinyup is also unbeaten this year but thanks to a bye in Round 2, they sit in a tie for second place in the standings.

A win for Melville Glades this week will surely make them the favourites at the half-way point of the season, however Lake Karrinyup can take Melville Glades place on top with a win as they chase their sixth pennant title in eight years.

Defending champions Royal Fremantle were left reeling after a surprise 7-0 whitewash by the newly promoted Cottesloe in Round 2. Now a force to be reckoned with, Cottesloe will face Royal Perth while Royal Fremantle will chase their first win of the season against WA Golf Club.

Division 2 will head down the freeway to Mandurah for their Round 3 clashes. Lake Karrinyup sits on top of the standings with two wins and will face Nedlands, while Mount Lawley 1 will play WA Golf Club and Mount Lawley 2 will play Wanneroo.

The unbeaten Gosnells outfit will take a bye into Round 3 as they host Division 3. Royal Fremantle and Cottesloe can join the top of the ladder with a win if they can defeat their opponents in Lakelands and Joondalup while Hartfield will face Melville Glades.
