Kwinana’s Daniel Hoeve has started very strongly at the prestigious Master of the Amateurs being held at the West Course of Royal Melbourne Golf Club.
An opening round of 71 and a second round of 72 places him in a tie for fourth place in the invitiation only field. The Australian Master of the Amateurs is the only category A event in Australia, and is ranked by the R&A as the highest ranked Amateur Championship in Australia.
Gosnells’ Jarryd Felton is the other Western Australian competing at the event, and sits in a tie for 33rd with back to back rounds of 75.
The 2014 Australian Master of the Amateurs Green Jacket Champion will receive an exemption into the 2014 Brabazion Trophy UK, 2014 Amateur Championship UK, Porter Cup USA, The Players Amateur USA, The Dogwood Invitational USA, and the Canadian Mens Amateur Championship.
