WA clubs invited to support The Longest Day golf challenge

17th Jan 2023

Cancer Council WA is seeking host clubs across the state to stage an event in support of The Longest Day golf challenge in March or April.

Inaugurated in 2021, The Longest Day challenges teams of golfers to complete 36, 54 or 72 holes of golf between dawn and dusk and raise funds for Cancer Council’s vital research, prevention and support services. Nearly $2.5m has been raised by the initiative nationwide since its launch.

Seven WA clubs have already signed up to support the Longest Day challenge in 2023 and if your club would be interested in joining the fun, Cancer Council WA would love to hear from you. Clubs can register to be either a Host Club, where they block out a day on their calendar and waive green fees for fundraising participants; or a Promoting Club that encourages members and non-members to pay a fee to participate in the challenge, which is then passed on to Cancer Council.

Full details on how your club can become a host venue are available on the Longest Day website. You can also download a guide to getting involved here. Alternatively, email events@cancerwa.asn.au with any queries.

All supporting clubs are listed on the event website, which directs interested golfers to their nearest participating venues.
