Matt Jager starts strong at Q-School

30th Jan 2014

Matt Jager currently sits in the joint clubhouse lead after the First Stage of Asia Tour Qualifying School at Imperial Lakeview Golf Club.

Jager shot a blemish free 5-under round of 67 on day two to add to his opening round of 70 to join fellow leader Piijit Petchkasem of Thailand at 7-under overall.

There are more than 700 entrants looking to gain status in 2014 for the Asian Tour, which will feature 15 events worth at least US$1 million this year. The Asian Tour offers the richest purses of any regional tour in the Asia-Pacific, and success can open doors to both the European Tour and Japan Golf Tour Organisation via co-sanctioned events such as the Volvo China Open, Thailand Open and Enjoy Jakarta Indonesia PGA Championship.

The school will feature two sections of first stage qualifying followed by the final stage in February.
