Brad Taylor was thrilled to be a part of a special day after he played in the ISPS Handa World Super 6 pro-am on Wednesday following his victory in GolfWA’s Club Challenge.
Taylor clinched the Men’s South Group event a fortnight ago to book his place at Lake Karrinyup, where he was joined by fellow winners Daniel Hunt and Lee Jovanski.
The men were paired with Frenchman Adrien Saddier in an early tee off time, with Taylor amazed by the organisation and excitement of the day.
“It has been fantastic,” Taylor described.
“All the ground staff and volunteers have been really good. Everybody is very helpful and I like the course.”
The Melville Glades member couldn’t believe the interaction he was able to have with a world-class golfer in Saddier, constantly talking throughout their 18 holes.
“Aiden is a really good player,” he said.
“He is really chatty and we all seemed to get along with him really well.”
The opportunity of a lifetime didn’t extend to just Taylor, with the winner able to bring a youngster to caddy for him and enjoy the experience alongside the players.
“I’ve got Steelo Junior or Callum with me,” he mentioned.
“He is a junior at Melville and he is doing a great job on the bag.”
The young aspiring golfer had an added bonus with being a caddy for the day, with the Wednesday coinciding with his schooling.
“He absolutely loves it and he gets a day off school too,” he laughed.
The women’s group of Sue Bloxam, Ros Zuideveld and Lorraine Rowley also enjoyed their day, playing alongside Spanish sensation Scott Fernandez at Lake Karrinyup.
The ladies were thankful for the experience and felt that clubs should get involved in the concept, with the prize too good to pass up.
