Brady Watt is one of two Australians taking part this week at the Ecuador Open on the PGA Latinoamerica Tour.
It will be Watt’s last performance overseas before returning to Australia for the John Hughes Nexus Risk Services WA Open and Perth International.
Watt is placed well after the opening round, just three shots behind Australia Mitch Krywulycz on five under.
All of the action in Watt’s round came between the second and fifth hole. After a rough start with a double bogey on the second, Watt went on a run of eagle, birdie, birdie to get to 2-under par. Watt would par the remaining 13 holes in the round to close on 70.
Scott Strange is the only other West Aussie on tour this week, playing the Asia-Pacific Diamond Cup on the Japan Golf Tour.
After two rounds, Strange is in a tie for 19th place at 1-under par, four strokes behind South Australian leader Adam Bland.
