A wealth of West Australian flavour for the Australian Open Championships

30th Nov 2022

The prestigious men’s and women’s Australian Opens are set to come together for the first time ever, set to be hosted at Victoria Golf Club and Kingston Heath Golf Club from December 1-4. The 2022 championship will also feature the 3rd edition of the Australian All Abilities Championship (AAAC), showcasing golf as an inclusive sport for all. Scroll down to the bottom to see how to follow and where to watch all the action live.

There is a wealth of West Australian representation in both the amateur and professional ranks. Amanda Gan (T1) and Amie Phobubpa both excelled through Pre-Q at the Sanctuary Lakes qualifying event meanwhile Connor McKinney and Hayden Hopewell will be making their second appearances as professionals after both making the cut at the Australian PGA Championship whilst Kirsten Rudgeley will be making her professional debut and will be keen to make her mark.

After great performances at the Australian PGA last week Jason Scrivener (T2) and Min Woo Lee (T4) will be keen to continue their form and challenge the likes of Cameron Smith, Adam Scott, Mark Leishman, Nicolai Hojgaard and Adrian Meronk for the Men’s Championship.

In the Women’s Championship both Minjee Lee (4th in Rolex World Rankings) and Hannah Green (20th in Rolex World Rankings) will be amongst the favourites to take the 2022 title whilst Maddison Hinson-Tolchard will be keen to use all her experience gained in the US and at the World Amateur Team Championships (WATC).
