It’s been an up and down year for Perth’s Hannah Green, but in the end she has achieved her goal for 2018, securing full playing rights for next season.
Green, 21, entered the penultimate event of the LPGA season in T75th overall in the standings, with a strong performance guaranteeing the Mount Lawley member a top 80 finish and a card for 2019.
The rookie responded in fine fashion to finish in T15 at the Blue Bay Classic in China, leaving the youngster inside the top 72 and gifting her a spot in the season-ending tour championship in Florida.
The result was Green’s best since her third-place in the women’s Australian Open earlier in the year, meaning she will join the likes of Minjee Lee and Su Oh as other Australian’s in next week’s event.
Green finishes her rookie season in the LPGA with two top-10 finishes and has earned more than US $236,000 in prizemoney.
West Aussie Minjee Lee sits at No. 2 on the Race to CME Globe rankings entering the final event of the year, with a strong chance of winning the $US 1 million bonus on offer.
Another positive performance would end an incredible career-best year for Lee, with her 2018 CV including 13 top-10 finishes and two wins.
Ariya Jutanugarn is the woman to catch, currently sitting on top of the standings.
