Stratton, Gavshon elected to GolfWA Board

Kristian Stratton and Matthew Gavshon were elected to the GolfWA Board of Directors at last week’s Annual General Meeting.

Royal Perth member Stratton is no stranger to GolfWA having served on the Strategic Projects Panel since 2023. A long-time golfer, Stratton has been a member at Royal Perth since 2017, where he is actively involved in junior development programs.

Away from golf, Stratton is the Head of Commercial Services and WA State Head for the Australian Industry Group and has held a range of board positions across several not-for-profit and government organisations.

Gavshon, meanwhile, is a member of Cottesloe Golf Club, where he plays for the Men’s Pennants team and has served on multiple committees.

A Partner and Investment Advisor at LGT Crestone, Gavshon has a proven track record of driving strategic direction, stakeholder engagement and capital allocation.

In addition to the two new faces, Kellie Benda, who has been an Appointed Director since June 2022, was formally elected to the Board, while Eric Hall was re-elected.

Gary Thomas, Chief Executive of GolfWA, welcomed Stratton and Gavshon’s election, saying: “We are extremely pleased to have Kristian and Matthew joining us. Both bring a wealth of experience and strong passion for the game of golf.”

Thomas also paid tribute to resigning Directors Greg Higham, Justin Davies and Jane Crane for their “outstanding service and commitment to GolfWA” over the past decade.
