Perth’s newest indoor golf training facility, Pin High, opened for business in Osborne Park in early September.
Featuring four simulators, an indoor driving range, a putting green and a dedicated gym space for golf-enhancing fitness and movement sessions, Pin High was conceived and brought to market by PGA member Jim Danas (above right) and experienced golf operations manager Josh Goupillot (above left).
With cutting-edge Trackman 4 technology fitted in each simulator and driving range bay, Pin High promises to help golfers of all levels maximise their potential in a relaxed, unintimidating setting.
In-house tuition is currently available from Danas with additional instructors set to join the business in the coming weeks.
Beyond that, ambitions include a greater focus on fitness, recovery and rehab to create a holistic golf wellness centre to complement the game improvement facilities, while club fitting and repair services are also on the agenda.
For now, though, Danas and Goupillot are focused on building a community of like-minded golfers who share a common goal of improving their games, regardless of their level of ability.
“Everything we offer here is top of the line and designed to help any golfer understand their game better and, ultimately, play better golf,” explained Danas. “That applies to beginners as well as elite golfers looking to gain that little bit extra.”
“That’s the beauty of the Trackman system,” Goupillot agreed. “It provides so many figures and statistics that can help golfers learn how their swing works and how to get the most from their games.
“That’s key to what we’re trying to achieve here. We want to educate people on how to use this data to improve their golf and gain greater enjoyment from it. We think that’s good for the game of golf as a whole.”
With usage of golf simulators soaring across the nation, Goupillot was keen to stress that Pin High holds a unique place in the Perth golfing ecosystem.
“We’re not in competition with golf entertainment venues,” he said. “While you can come here for a quick 18 with your friends – and there are more than 380 courses available on the simulators – we’re more of a performance centre. There’s room for all of us in the market.”
As well as being open to the public, Pin High offers a range of memberships and is moving towards a model where members will be able to access the facility via keycard 24/7.
“We’re all about creating a positive environment that makes it as easy as possible to fit golf into your schedule,” said Goupillot.
