Big Swing Golf has become the latest golf simulator business to launch a venue in WA with their Booragoon branch opening in the first week of November.

Perth’s own YouTube golf star Ron Chopper was present at the grand opening, challenging all comers to nearest-the-pin and longest-drive competitions.

Styling the indoor golf experience as being ‘real, fun and fast’, Big Swing Golf Booragoon offers four simulator booths and a choice of more than 80 global golf courses, including iconic layouts like St Andrews, Pebble Beach, Valderrama, Royal Melbourne and Kiawah Island.

Utilising Full Swing Simulator technology said to be the ‘fastest and most life-like technology on the market’, players can benefit from an abundance of metrics designed to aid in swing game improvement. In-house coaching sessions and weekly leagues will also help provide further game improvement and competitive golf options.

Use of golf simulators is on the up, with more than 300,000 Australians making use of them in 2022, according to the latest Golf Australia figures. And Big Swing Golf’s Jesse Ross believes the simulator experience has the potential to resonate with both traditional and non-traditional golfers.

“Simulators are great for those getting into golf because you have your own booth and can play in a safe and secure environment,” he told GolfWA. “You don’t have to battle with finding your ball if you mishit it, and there’s no weather to contend with, so it’s always perfect to play.

“Golf enjoyed a great resurgence during COVID, with more people wanting to play more golf. Simulators are the perfect compliment to those who can’t easily get to a golf course, or want to get in a quick round after work,” he added.

“Simulators allow players to complete 18 holes in around 90 minutes, which is a much more time-conscious solution than a round of outdoor golf.”

Meanwhile, X-Golf has announced its newest WA branch will open in Rockingham Centre on December 8. The popular golf simulator franchise already has three locations in WA at Bunbury, Joondalup and Balcatta.
