Minjee Lee, Hayley Bettencourt and Hannah Green will all compete in the Quarter Finals of the Victorian Amateur tomorrow at Kingston Heath Golf Club.
While all three of WA’s women remain in contention, Jarryd Felton exited today in the Round of 32 with a 1-up loss to Anthony Quayle and Curtis Luck fell in the Round of 16 to Victoria’s Matt Hinkley.
It was a strong performance for Luck, who finished tied for 11th in the strokeplay earlier in the week and advanced through the Round of 32 with a 5&3 victory over Darcy Brereton.
It was smooth sailing for Number 2 seed Minjee Lee, who easily defeated Grace Danielle 5&4 in their Round of 16 clash. Hayley Bettencourt had a similar victory, resoundingly beating Kono Matsumoto 7&5.
Hannah Green had to work for her victory, needing to go to the 18th hole to record her 2-up victory over the higher seeded Rio Watanabe to set up an all WA Quarter Final clash with Minjee Lee.
Hayley Bettencourt will face number 4 seed Ellen Davis-Graham, with the winner likely to face number 1 seed and defending champion Su-Hyun Oh.
