Minwoo Lee of Royal Fremantle fired a 2-under round of 70 in the final round of the Aaron Baddeley International Junior Championship to finish 4th overall and win the Under 15 category.
Played at the Lion Lake Country Club in China, the Aaron Baddeley International Junior Championship included representatives from Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Canada, United States and Taiwan to compete for a spot at the 2014 Australian Open.
Starting the round tied for seventh place, Lee’s 3-over effort gave Australia three representatives in the top four as Victorian Zach Murray ran away with the victory after firing an incredible opening round of 66 and maintaining his lead wire to wire.
Cottesloe’s Curtis Luck final round was marred by an 11 on the opening hole, however he recovered to shoot 1-under for the remaining 17 holes to finish with a 77 in the final round and place tied for 24th.
Lee and Luck will return to Australia and are the hot favourites to battle for the Smarter than Smoking State Junior Amateur title, being played at Hartfield Country Club on December 1st.
