- The 2021 Golf Australia Visionary Award
Mark along with his colleague and Community Instructor, Anna-Maria England, were awarded Golf Australia’s Visionary of the Month Award for February. This was in recognition of their Gotta Get Golfing and This Girl Golfs programs which have resulted in a significant increase in female participation and membership growth at the resort. - 2020 PGA Australia National Game Development Award
Following on from this success, Mark took out the 2020 PGA Australia National Game Development Award at the annual Greg Norman Medal Awards. The virtual ceremony was broadcast by Fox Sports following its cancellation in December 2020 due to the pandemic restrictions. - 2020 PGA WA Game Development Award
Mark was awarded the 2020 PGA WA Game Development Award for the third consecutive year at the WA Golf Industry Awards Gala Dinner. The Game Development of the Year Awards recognise the achievements of PGA Members who contribute to the industry through golf coaching in the areas of grass roots game development.
This may include junior, women’s and all abilities programs, group and private lessons for members/casual golfers along with initiatives in the promotion of golf and community engagement.
Mark will now be nominated from WA for the 2021 Greg Norman Medal Awards and teamed with Anna-Maria, will also be in the running for Golf Australia’s 2021 Visionary of the Year Award.
Having the honour of being presented with ten state coaching awards over the years, Mark was thrilled to be recognised for the National Game Development Award, describing the award as the pinnacle of his 43 year professional career.
According to Mark in his acceptance speech, “These awards and this success should also to be attributed to the management & staff at the resort, and the committee and members of The Vines Golf & Country Club due to their unwavering support, along with volunteers, John & Yvonne Messenger, for their assistance with the Ready Steady Golf program, and Anna-Maria for her hard work and assistance with all our programs.”
