The Darwin NT Golf Classic titles were secured today by 18-year-old Blaike Perkins and 14-year-old Haruhi Nakatani. Both youngsters have dominated the men’s and women’s 54-hole event from the first day of competition, with Blaike breaking the course record, carding an astonishing 10-under par, 62. WA’s own sixteen year old Sheridan Clancy finished T2 alongside Queensland’s Emily Martin, after a carding rounds of 71 and 72 in her final two rounds to chase her way up the leaderboard.
Joondalup’s Amie Phobubpa and Celine Chen finished in 4th and 6th positions, a testament to our WA Junior talent dominating the Women’s competition top tier.
Blaike Perkins held his nerve to win by six shots over NSW’s Joseph Curran and West Australian Liam McEvoy, local talent from The Vines Country Club in third position. Liam featured at the top end of the leaderboard throughout the competition, carding an outstanding 69 in round two.
Congratulations Sheridan, Liam, Amie and Celine on an outstanding weekend of golf in the Northern Territory. Final scores can be viewed at
