Growth continues regionally with help from the Department of Local Government for Sport and Culture

GolfWA with the support of the Department of Local Government for Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) have been running a number of activation sessions to support the growth of the game in regional WA through Regional Servicing Grants.

On this occasion, GolfWA with the help of PGA Professional Coach Brayden McCubbin. Brayden travelled to Katanning to run workshops to enable sustainable growth opportunities for the game on the 15th and 16th of October. This also coincided with their open day on Saturday 15th of October and the official opening of the the new clubhouse at the Katanning Country Club.

Brayden ran through the Golf Australia Community Instructor Practical Workshop to nine participants from clubs including Katanning, Cuballing and Kojonup. The Community instructor practical workshop covers the core safety, technical and engagement principles to support instructors to deliver MyGolf and Get Into Golf grassroots programs in the community in a face to face environment after completing the online segments of the accreditation.

After the Community Instructor course in the morning, Brayden hosted a kids MyGolf Come & Try followed by an adults Get Into Golf Come & Try with the skilled up Community Instructors supporting the delivery with a fantastic 29 juniors and 13 adults give golf a go with balls on the range, chipping and sand green putting
