The event will attract some of Australia’s best amateurs, with a number of both male and female interstate golfers making the trip over for the event the weekend.
Fresh off the back of time playing golf in the United States and Canada, Cottesloe’s Michael Hanrahan-Smith will be a big local inclusion in the field for the weekend. Buchannan is currently ranked number two in the Men’s Australian Amateur rankings. Buchanan will play with Hanrahan-Smith for the first two days in what could be a group that produces fireworks.
Queensland’s Hannah Reeves will be looking to go one better after her second-place finish at the Bowra and O’Dea Classic last week. Reeves, who is ranked 27th in the Women’s National Ranking had a fantastic week including a hole in one on in the second round on Monday.
