Work has begun on a $9m upgrade to the reticulation system at the Vines Resort golf courses.
The current system has been in place for more than 30 years, necessitating the upgrade work to “return the course to pristine condition”, said a spokesperson.
Pre-preparation for the work was undertaken last November with the installation of a $1 million dollar pump station to reduce the watering window from 14 hours down to 10.
A new 450KvA generator was also installed to secure a more reliable source of power, allowing for greater output of water to be pumped onto the course in a shorter time period.
Holes 10-18 of the resort’s Lakes Course are the first to undergo the improvement works, which are expected to be completed in July. Following this, work will move on to holes 1, 2 and 12-18 of the Ellenbrook Course, with an estimated completion date of October 2023.
At present, all 18 holes of Ellenbrook and the front nine of Lakes 1-9 are available to play as per usual, with pre-bookings required.
