GolfWA’s MyGolf in Schools program sponsored by Smarter than Smoking has wrapped up another successful term of clinics that have helped introduce over 1,000 kids to golf.
Term Two was a unique term for many as Covid-19 restrictions presented challenges for both schools and GolfWA’s MyGolf instructors. Strict new hygiene protocols ensured all equipment was regularly sanitised and allowed kids to enjoy golf in a safe and healthy environment.
Despite a shortened term, GolfWA still managed to visit 11 schools and helped 1,397 kids swing a golf club, many for the very first time.
Speaking about the program, Tuart Hill PS teacher Catherine Connolly said, “Some students have never had the opportunity to hit a golf ball and may not in the future. The program exposes my students to another amazing sport that they may not get the chance to play.”
The MyGolf in Schools program proudly presented by Smarter than Smoking covers the entire Perth metropolitan area and in Term Two our visits stretched from Two Rocks down to Halls Head.
