2013 State Womens Team AnnouncedThe 2013 State Women's Team which will compete in the 2013 Interstate Series wa announced at Royal Fremantle after the 2013 State Amateur Championships last Sunday.

Western Australia completed a successful defence of the Gladys Hay Memorial Cup with a resounding 6-0 win over Victoria in the final of the Australian Women's Interstate Teams Matches at West Lakes Golf Club in Adelaide.
The Western Australian side lost to the Victorians on Thursday but found revenge in the final.
"It's really hard to win tournaments like this back-to-back but it's great to be able to get it done,? WA Captain Whitney Hillier said.
Victoria finished the championship in second place.
Queensland won the first Consolation Final, defeating New South Wales 4-2 to finish in third place.
In the second Consolation Final, South Australia defeated Tasmania 4-3.
The 2013 Australian Women's Interstate Teams Matches will be held at Royal Hobart Golf Club.
The 2012 Women's State Team to compete in the Australian Interstate Teams Matches in South Australia in May was announced following the finals of the State Amateur Championships on Sunday March 18 at Mount Lawley Golf Club. The team is:-
Hayley BETTENCOURT - Mandurah Country Club
Hannah GREEN - Mount Lawley Golf Club
Whitney HARVEY - Melville Glades Golf Club
Whitney HILLIER (Captain) - Joondalup Country Club
Alyssa KEIR - The Vines Golf and Country Club
MinJee LEE - Royal Fremantle Golf Club
Ritchie SMITH - Coach
Shonna GOBBY - Manager
MinJee Lee had an outstanding 2011 with a long list of accomplishments both nationally and internationally including wins at the Handa Junior Masters, State Amateur Championship, and Singapore Ladies Amateur Championship. She is currently ranked 2nd in Australian Women's Rankings and has been selected to the 2012 National Squad (Tier 1). MinJee will also be representing Australia at the Queen Sirikit Cup in Singapore in late April. This is her 3rd appearance at the Interstate Series.
Whitney Hillier, currently Australian Number 3, will Captain the team as the most experienced member and making her 7th Interstate Series appearance. Hillier is coming off recent victories at Lake Macquarie Championship and Riversdale Cup. Hillier also went undefeated in last year's Interstate Series matches.
Hayley Bettencourt is coming off victories at both the 2012 Tasmanian Junior Masters and the Tamar Valley Junior Cup. She is also currently ranked 2nd in Australian Junior Girls and was runner up at last year's Australian Junior Amateur Championship. Bettencourt will be competing in her 2nd Interstate Series.
Whitney Harvey is currently ranked 8th in Australian Junior Girls and coming off wins at both the Mosman Park Junior Classic and Nedlands Junior Masters. She will be playing in her 4th Senior Series.
Alyssa Keir and Hannah Green are the new faces on the team this year. Both Keir and Green had strong finishes in 2011. Alyssa claimed victories at the Tournament of Champions and Lake Karrinyup Sub Junior Classic. Hannah took out the Junior State Amateur Championship and was recently a member of the winning Trans Tasman Cup team.
The Women have an impressive side this year with lots of experience returning from the 2011 Women's Interstate Series winning team which included members MinJee Lee, Whitney Hillier, Hayley Bettencourt and Whitney Harvey.
